#99

We made it to the very end of Lane's game... so proud of him on AND off the field.  I think his cousin thinks the world of him too.

My little obedient boy!!

Tristan's teacher gives the kids a flower each day.  It's not a real flower... but one with three leaves and when they have to be reminded of something (put down your pencil, stand in line quietly, etc.) more than once, you have to pull a leaf.  BUT, if you have been obedient all day... and have not pulled any leaves... you get to take home a blue obedience sticker.

T had a hard time with that last year.  So, I made a chart and said when you fill the boxes with a sticker... and fill the page - we pick a really fun thing to do together!

HE DID IT!!!

While we won't do something "BIG" we wanted the first one to be memorable.  So, we told him he could choose a friend and we would take them to Dave and Busters.

Holy Chuck-E-Cheese for grown-ups.  YAHOOOO!!

Little stinkers

Well, we played for two hours and had a blast.  Tons of stuff to do!!

Very last game - Cohen wins us 500 tickets!  I've never seen so much pure joy in the kid.  He hit the mother load!!

They loved every second and we loved it too.  So proud of our little guy.

So, I asked T... when you fill up your sheet next time, what do you want to do?  He said... just go to the park.  YEAAAAAAH - that's free!!!

He's sick..and I get a huge gift

My poor little booger has been sick for the last few days.  He kept complaining of a headache and then the low grade fever set in.  So, we kept him out of school Friday... thank God for Bebah.  I stayed with him all weekend and he was SO bummed out that we couldn't play, run, go to the park, etc.  On Sat, we finally caved and let him take a quick trip to the park.  No harm, no foul.  But,m the next day - he woke up - screaming and barking like a seal trying to get air in his lungs.  I haven't been THAT scared in a long time.  To the point, I almost called 911.

He calmed down and we went to the After Hours Clinic.  Tested negative for strep and the flu. Whew!

I explained we'd have a day at home... just the two of us.  We played, organized, cleaned, played some more.  Then my sweet boy gave me THIS:

This was a HUGE act of love for Tristan. He's not big on the ooey gooey, mushy stuff.. but man, does he know how to make his mommy's heart swell two sizes.

Love you Tristan - thank you for doing something so great even when you feel icky!!!

Mother/Son weekend at Pine Cove Christian Camp

A few months back, I saw that this was an option and asked if anyone would go with me.  I hate, hate, hate doing this stuff by myself.  ZERO takers. So, I called Sue and luckily she had the weekend free!!!

So, this past Friday, Sue, Davis, Tristan and I headed off to Pine Cove.  Check this place out!!

I knew Tristan would be a little young, but Davis was the perfect age (7) - but T loved it.  He was even able to sit and listen without complaining (too much).  We sang worship songs and played and danced.  There were kids ranging from 5 to 12.  About 200 people in total and it was AWESOME!

We stayed in our own room (the 4 of us) but it could have slept 8.  We had an adjoining hallway with two other families that had two sinks one each end and in the middle, 4 bathrooms and 4 showers. Perfect!!

Here is what the outside looked like (a little castle!!)

The kiddos got to run out and play without much supervision because they are surrounded by moms AND counselors. It was amazing!

We had dinner, worship, family general session then the counselors take the kids and we moms got to hear our AMAZING guest speaker.

Terry Ann Kelly - read about her here

She had 5 kids, 4 of them boys so talk about wisdom!!!

She was so REAL it was just a huge blessing.  We learned about the Fruits of the Spirit and Tristan and Davis both get a special surprise once they can sing them (or say them) without help

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Saturday morning began the same then ended with a fun group event.  We were team BLUE.  "B-L-U-E that's how you spell victory!! REPEAT... a million times" I screamed that with everyone and almost lost my voice!  These two were READY!

and guess what?  TEAM BLUE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday afternoon  we had a ton of free time to spend with our children.  They had so many things to choose from and our boys chose FISHING!  This was one of those moments I was SO thankful for the millions of times I've fished with my mom. I was the only mom will to unhook the fish so the boys were swarming.

Davis caught 4 or five fish .. the other boys caught a few too ... but....

THIS GUY!?  He caught 12!!!  There was one kid that was just distraught and Tristan was trying to talk to him and share his stick and line (they fished from sticks with sausage, it was awesome!)

after about an hour and a half... we headed off to the ropes course.

T was too small (BOOOOO!) to do the course or zip line BUT he was a HUGE helper.  He helped for the entire hour and a half that he waited for Sue and I to zip and for Davis to do both.  He was adored by everyone there... I was so thankful that he was so sweet and so helpful!!

Then after that fun, we headed off to shoot BB guns and bow and arrows!

The boys checking out there targets.  They were quite proud.

I'm so very thankful for a place that I could afford, for a place that was SO amazingly organized and on top of it.  I will be saving my pennies for this ANNUAL weekend with T but also a camp for him that I fully intend to send him to starting in 2nd grade.  It will be hard to let him go for a week... BUT... what he will gain will be life changing.  How could I not!?

Guess it's good practice for college!  :)

And, for the record, this mama grew too, major challenges as a mom and a follower of Christ.

This cat's on fire!

Linds and Rett

T is ready to do this (getting cheered on by his teacher, Mrs. Galimore!)

Hi buddies

Noah...

Grayson...

a little bit into it

(I think he sprinted and couldn't catch his breath)

then was bawling and begged me to let him quit - BEGGING "MOMMY, PLEEEASE!!??!!??"

It was awful...

So, I carried him around a few laps... then Kimmie stepped in

(I'm pretty sure she saw I was drenched in sweat!)

I took him again ... then I may or may not have told him how "his friends were smoking him and man, they were fast, and wow..."

BOOM - he was off and running!

That competitive gene can serve it's purposes sometimes!

This is his buddy Mia... sure do love those dimples!!

and Super Cohen

G wasn't messing around...

he finished FIRST for the 3rd year in a row

(beat all of K5, 1st and 2nd grade!!)
